Accommodations at Second Creek Farm Vacation Rental

Farmhouse kitchen
Roaring fires, frosty mornings, mugs of steaming hot chocolate, beautiful views and blissful peacefulness. Any time of the year is wonderful at Second Creek.

When you cross the farm bridge you'll feel like you are entering into another world. The farmhouse sits tucked back in the hayfields surrounded by the mountains and spring-fed creeks. Inviting and familiar, it recalls the engaging rural style and architecture of an earlier era with saw-marked poplar clapboards, bright with whitewash. We are proud of the restoration work that has brought the house back to its original state and while exceptional care has been taken to preserve the farm's character, adding modern comforts in a respectful way was always an important goal.

Living room and stairs to the master bedroom
The farmhouse with its exposed chestnut beams, creamy white walls and yellow pine floors is quite simply amazing. An Old Hickory wood stove dominates the open living room and promises warmth on chilly nights. The kitchen is airy and bright, with its vaulted ceilings, skylight and old-fashioned pantry. It opens out onto a very private brick and stone terrace, complete with a gas grill. Upstairs, vaulted ceilings and large bay windows in the master suite give things an open-air feeling with views of the mountains and streams. There is even a claw-foot tub in the master bathroom overlooking the pond. The second bedroom downstairs has its own view of the pond.

White rocking chairs line the front porch and remind us of how uncomplicated things used to be in the old days when you would sit on the porch, sip a cup of tea and listen to the bobwhites call from the edge of the woods.
