Wonderful

Thank you, Luther and Catherine for sharing your beautiful farm with us. I always let out a sigh of relief when I get on the Blue Ridge Parkway and anticipate the rejuvenation of being here, and I am never disappointed.

An Escape

Second Creek Farmhouse is so beautiful, peaceful and comfortable. Thank you for sharing this place. Coming in to a warm fire was such a treat and the gold tomatoes were amazing!

Serenity

This home is so much more beautiful than pictures or words can describe. The property has rolling hills, ponds, creeks, brooks, and so much to offer that's serene. You are 5 minutes from The Blue Ridge Parkway and George Washington National Forest. The Forest is the home to Crabtree Falls, which offers recreational activities and beautiful scenery. Mr. & Mrs. Cash are very accommodating, and I can't wait to visit again in the spring. I am still amazed people stay in hotels when you can travel state to state and meet people like the Cashes that open history like this for all of us to experience. [& we love the donkey] We named her DONKEY, you have to say it like "Shrek!!"

Beautiful, clean, quaint farm house!

We stayed in mid October which was a beautiful time of year at the farmhouse. We arrived to fresh flowers and a jar of local (volunteer fire department made) apple butter which was a nice touch. Our first morning we walked the farm and the donkey walked up and greeted us. The house was very clean and had everything we could have needed. It was neat cooking on the antique stove. We do plan to return, as we'd like to check it out during each season!

Lovely Remodeled Farmhouse

This was a beautifully renovated yet authentic farmhouse in a perfect location for hiking near the AT.  Home was comfortable with plenty of space and nice kitchen along with patio space for cooking outdoors.  We enjoyed exploring the hills and creeks around the farm along with fishing in the pond.  Nice hike starting at the farmhouse to Spy Rock with breathtaking views from the top.  Very well-stocked campground store right up the road.

Farmhouse Rental

Everything listed about this rental was accurate. It is an old farmhouse that has been beautifully (I mean exquisitely) remodeled. Brand new appliances (including washer and drier), TV, WiFi, etc. The wooden floors are gorgeous. There is a patio with a table and 4 chairs in the back, plus a wide porch with 4 rocking chairs in the front. The dining room has a big farmhouse table that can accommodate 6 (I think). The cabin is situated on a farm with the mountains right there! There was a small herd of cattle that were grazing in pastures close to the house. We drove 2 minutes to hike up to the Priest and about 15 minutes to the Crabtree Falls parking area. The owners were very accommodating and answered lots of my annoying queries beforehand. Bring your own food and drink, because not much is close by, but there is a full fridge, oven/stove, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, and grill. I cannot speak highly enough about this farmhouse - it was truly lovely.

Perfect, getaway
If you want to get away from it all, this place is it – it is a quiet, beautiful, spacious property. When we arrived, the place seemed out of a postcard or magazine. We traveled with our three children 13, 12 and 6 they all can't wait to go back. The place has a wood-burning stove to keep warm. It is close to all of the trails and is about 40 minutes away from many tourist destinations. Luther and Catherine (the owners) are very responsive and the nicest people, you'll ever meet.
